Ollie Locke and husband Gareth reveal they've lost five embryos during surrogacy journey

Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth have revealed they've lost five embryos in the space of a year during their journey to become parents.

The Made in Chelsea star has been trying for a baby with Gareth, with them flying to Cyprus last October with their surrogate to undergo IVF treatment. In December, the reality star announced on Instagram that the surrogate had suffered a miscarriage.

Discussing their ongoing IVF and surrogacy journey on Lorraine on Friday, Ollie revealed the extent of their heartbreak.

"We've lost five embryos in the last year and we've had to go to Cyrus, to Mexico, through America to Brazil," he shared. "It's been hard and very expensive, but we have to go through that and it's just shown that people in this are all together."

The 34-year-old also discussed their decision to show their journey to become parents on the E4 reality show.

"We decided to put everything from literally having sperm and egg, if you will, and making an embryo, and all the ups and downs of it," he explained. "Luckily we're in the position where we're on a show every Monday night and (able to show) what's going on along the journey with everyone and the Made In Chelsea audience."

In his original statement, Ollie revealed that their surrogate become pregnant in early November but miscarried at six weeks.

"After a difficult year, a little bean growing inside the best person you could ever imagine was the most wonderful early Christmas present we could ever have imagined. Through the course of nature, at 6 weeks and 2 days it stopped growing and had gone," he wrote.

Ollie and Gareth got married at London's Natural History Museum in 2020.
