One dead and several injured after shooting at US school in Benton, Kentucky
One person has been killed and others have been injured in a shooting at a high school in rural Kentucky.
Governor Matt Bevin said the shooting happened at Marshall County High School in Benton, southwest Kentucky.
In a tweet, Mr Bevin says a shooting suspect was in custody.

The community is about 120 miles northwest of Nashville, Tennessee.

Kentucky State Police said on Twitter that a deputy had apprehended the shooter.
It said the scene was now secure and a suspect is in custody.

Police said the school remains on lockdown. The FBI said it is working with state and local law enforcement to respond.
Meanwhile, a soccer coach at the school says all of her players are safe.
“You just never think this will happen in a small town like ours,” Savana Smothers, the high school’s assistant girls’ soccer coach, told the Associated Press.
It is the second school shooting in the US this week.
On Monday, a teenage girl was injured in a shooting at Italy High School in Texas. A 16-year-old male was arrested.
