One Direction Are Playing Their First Ever Radio 1 Live Lounge

They might be going for a big ol’ nap soon, but One Direction are cramming in as much as possible before they head off for a break - including a visit to Radio 1′s Live Lounge for the very first time.

How many performances will the boys squeeze in before their break? THE LIMIT DOES NOT EXIST, apparently.

The ridiculously exciting announcement was made during Sunday’s Teen Awards, where the boys won both Best British Group and Best Single for ‘Drag Me Down’.

Congrats, guys!

Revealing 1D’s British Group win, Greg James also had another HUGE announcement to make.

That announcement? That the boys will be doing their first EVER BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge this Thursday, the day before ‘Made In The A.M’ is released.

Put it in your diaries, write it on your forehead and scream it from the rooftops, if you fancy. We can’t WAIT.

Sharing the photo above on Instagram, Greg wrote: “HUGE NEWS! Not only did they just win this, but I just announced that @onedirection will be doing their first EVER Live Lounge. And it’s on my show - THIS Thursday at 5pm.”

Our alarms are set and we’re already counting down the hours.

Their Radio 1 appearances don’t stop there either, as Nick Grimshaw has now revealed that they’ll be on his breakfast show next Monday (16th).

Elsewhere at the Teen Awards, Ed Sheeran picked up the gong for Best British Solo Artist, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 got Best Film, The X Factor won Best TV Show and Joe Sugg nabbed the Best British Vlogger trophy.

The big bash also celebrated three amazing teen heroes - Alice, a 14-year-old carer from Gloucestershire, Rosie, 14, a fundraiser from Coventry with a highly malignant primary brain tumour and Aaren, a 16-year-old from Bristol who was born with gender dysphoria.
