One Direction’s Harry Styles ‘Signs Solo Record Deal’ With Columbia

Harry Styles has reportedly put pen to paper with Columbia Records!

Rest assured though, One Direction are also signed with the same label, so he isn’t straying too far from familiar ground – or the boys. ‪#1DStayWithUs

According to Billboard’s sources, the terms of his solo record deal are unknown and a date hasn’t been scheduled for his first release, but in the meantime fans have One Direction’s five hit albums and a whole lot of history to reminisce over.

There have been murmurings of the star’s solo material for a while now, with additional hints arriving in December, when four of his original songs were registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

And while Harry Styles’ representatives haven’t commented on news of the solo record deal yet, they haven’t denied it either – in other words, watch this space.

Since One Direction were formed on The X Factor in 2010, they have managed to rack up four No. 1 albums and one No. 2 album, released via Sony Music’s Columbia label in partnership with Simon Cowell’s Syco.

Following their stratospheric success, the group announced that they would be taking a hiatus, allowing each member of the group to concentrate on solo projects during the break.

Harry would become the second One Direction alumni to branch off into a solo music career though, following in the footsteps of Zayn Malik, who has already experienced success with the release of his debut solo album, Mind of Mine.

We wish Harry Styles – and the rest of the group – success in whichever direction they choose to take next!
