Deemed one of the Midlands' 'most exciting' houses for sale, The Mount in Shropshire is a millionaire's pad with a difference. It's on the market for £12.5million in Oswestry countryside and there's a long list of astounding extras you get for that price including an underground man cave.

Its stunning facade and grand entrance hall and staircase are only a taste of what's to come on the estate, close to famous Offas Dyke beauty spot. It's being sold by Savills in sought-after Shropshire, 90 minutes from Birmingham city centre and an hour from Wolverhampton.

Along with the main mansion, which looks like something belonging to the National Trust, that price tag also gets the new owner a separate three bedroom cottage in the grounds. There's a 20m swimming pool, tennis court, underground entertainment complex and the property is so large, there's even a lift.

Estate agent Tony Morris-Eyton of Savills' team for the West Midlands even described the country house with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms as "very special".

Tony said: “For me, this is the most exciting property to come to the market in Shropshire this year. It is a very special property and has been done to the very best of standards. Everything is done to the most intricate detail.”

Savills team added: "It's one of the most important new-build mansion houses within the UK, built within the last 20 years and set in about 47 acres."

Among the top benefits is an indoor swimming pool complex with changing area and steam room. There's also a helicopter landing pad to fly in and beat the traffic along with three walled gardens that include vegetable plots and three ponds.

This underground man cave includes a snooker room, card room, bar and games rooms, cinema room, sitting room and office. While the garage is large enough to fit at least five cars.

The Mount originally belonged to the Late Lord Harlech as part of the Brogyntyn Estate. The original Edwardian country house was demolished around 20 years ago and this new house built in its place.

Current owners are said to have "created an exquisite country house built to the very highest of standards incorporating state of the art technology and materials". The main walls have been constructed using hand-carved Derbyshire stone and there's plenty of underfloor heating to keep toes toasty.

"The Mount has been positioned to take advantage of fabulous, far-reaching views over glorious Shropshire countryside," added the estate agent. "Great thought has been given to creating an elegant and grand country house which is fit for ultra-modern yet comfortable twenty first century living.

"The Mount has great stature and grandeur. The property is set within about 47 acres of parkland offering complete privacy.

There are six further bedrooms, six bathrooms, a laundry and a gym, which leads to a viewing platform over the indoor swimming pool. Another great feature is the terrace which overlooks the private walled garden to the south."

Visitors arrive at The Mount through "imposing double gates" and a sweeping drive through "beautiful parkland". Stepping inside, "a beautiful, cantilevered staircase" leads up to a large galleried landing.

There's plenty of space for entertaining in the house with a dining room, large drawing room, family room and "substantial living kitchen". There's even a flower room, angling room and boot room to leave wellies after a long walk around the woodland and paths across the estate.
