One of Prince Louis' first words was 'Mary' after seeing Mary Berry on cookbooks, Kate reveals

One of Prince Louis’ first words was “Mary” after seeing Mary Berry’s face on cookbooks at home, Kate Middleton has revealed.

The Duchess of Cambridge shared the story about her third child ahead of an appearance with husband William and the former Bake Off judge in a BBC festive special.

Prince Louis will celebrate his second birthday in April.

In a preview clip seen by The Mirror, Kate said: “One of Louis’ first words was ‘Mary’, because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen.

“And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say, ‘That’s Mary Berry’. So he would definitely recognise you if he saw you.”

A Berry Royal Christmas will sees TV star Berry cook for staff and volunteers from ­charities and organisations.

William and Kate, who are reportedly “huge Bake Off fans”, will appear in the show helping the 84-year-old Berry with food prep.

The pair have two other children, six-year-old Prince George and four-year-old Princess Charlotte.

A Berry Merry Christmas airs on Monday at at 8.30pm on BBC1.
