TV presenter Alex Jones has welcomed her third child into the world and she said her family are already besotted.
“We have some news. Our beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.
“Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have the three of them and to be a family of five. It still doesn’t feel real.”
The star expressed her gratitude to “everyone at the Queen Charlotte hospital” with special thanks to “super midwife” Audrey.
Fans await the name of the new family member which is expected to be announced soon.
Friends and famous faces have offered their congratulations to the couple on the Instagram post, including Jones‘ co-host Jermaine Jenas.
“Congratulations to you both amazing news,” he commented with a heart emoji.
Singer Ronan Keating added: “Congratulations to you all. Amazing news.”
Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo also wrote: “Yay congratulations.” Documentary maker and former Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley commented heart emojis.
Ms Jones has previously said she and her husband plan not to have any more children for environmental reasons.
But in March on The One Show, she revealed they had received “some really unexpected news” over lockdown and they were expecting a baby girl.
Ms Jones and Mr Thomson tied the knot at Cardiff Castle in 2015 in a ceremony featuring both English and Welsh.
In 2017, Ms Jones welcomed her first child Teddy at age 39 and in May 2019 she gave birth to a baby boy named Kit.
She discovered she was expecting for the first time after filming the documentary Fertility And Me.
The documentary delved into the little-known facts about conception and the issues which can come with having a baby at an older age.
It was only during filming the BBC documentary she discovered her mother had a premature menopause at the age of 44.
