The One Show presenter Alex Jones has addressed going up against her co-stars at the annual National Television Awards following the release of the longlist. All three of the BBC programme's talented hosts have been listed in the best television presenter category with voting now open.

The longlist shows off the best television of the past year with Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Baby Reindeer and Welsh-filmed Wolf up for best new drama while Rhod Gilbert: A Pain in the Neck for SU2C, Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story, and Rose Ayling-Ellis: Signs for Change are among those in authored documentary longlist.

And while the NTAs won't take place until September first-stage voting will now remain open until Friday, May 31, before a shortlist is confirmed in August. Alex, Jermaine, and Roman are all up for best television presenter and The One Show itself has been listed in the factual entertainment category.

Sharing the news with BBC viewers during the show that aired on Tuesday, May 21, Alex said: "Before we go there's just time to say how delighted we are that today we've been longlisted for the National Television Awards 2024."

Jermaine added: "We have indeed. The One Show is in the factual entertainment category. We are both in the television presenter category aren't we?"

Awkwardly addressing the fact, Alex joked: "Up against each other, oooh." Laughing, Jermaine replied: "Up against each other and Mr Roman, he's involved too, and all the other nominees."

The One Show presenters aren't the only hosts going up against one another with This Morning's Cat Deeley and former host Holly Willoughby also longlisted. You can read more on this here. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
