One of Wales's biggest wedding specialists has announced a 'new era' for its founding venue in Swansea. The Oldwalls Collection said it had invested more than £200,000 in Oldwalls Gower to create the country's "first ever all-inclusive multi-day wedding experience".

Inspired by its Gower countryside location, the venue has worked with group interior designer Elizabeth Styles - responsible for the interiors of its sister venues, Fairyhill and Sant Ffraed House, to create a new look and feel. It said the bohemian-chic scheme would offer couples looking for an alternative to the classic white wedding.

The six-figure investment has been made at the 50-acre Llwyn Y Bwlch Farm (Oldwalls) with a complete revamp of the interiors.

The garden will also be updated, introducing an outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and seating area, offering guests more opportunities to appreciate the beautiful landscape. The in-house head chef will also redevelop menus, focusing on feasting-style experiences created using fresh local produce.

In a joint statement, co-founders Andrew and Simon Hole said: “Oldwalls Gower was one of the pioneers of the exclusive wedding experience in Wales and has been one of the most popular venues in Wales for over 15 years. So we felt that now was the right time to inject a new lease of life into our beautiful founding venue and redevelop the product to embody the multi-day country farm wedding trend.

“We can't wait to unveil the new and improved venue we've worked on alongside Liz. The revamped Oldwalls Gower will be fresh and innovative, giving our couples who have already set the date and those searching for their dream venue more choice and flexibility.”

Group interior designer Elizabeth Styles added: "It's been so much fun working on the Oldwalls Gower redesign. Working with the Oldwalls Collection is always exciting – you get to play with what makes each venue different. With all the space & charm already available on the farm, creating a look for rustic, festival-style weddings was an obvious choice."

Director of the Oldwalls Collection, Shakira Obaid, described it as a "multi-day festival style". She said: "The venue gives us a new lease of life. Since Covid we have found that brides and grooms want to bring all their family and friends together to celebrate and really spend quality time together. We had the farm and the land so had the space to help bring people together over a number of days.

"We have the backdrop of the Gower so it really feels like a staycation for the guests and people want to make the most of the celebrations. The rural farm location really lends itself to the natural bohemian style and we already have a wedding booked in for this week."

She added that the venue was taking bookings right up to 2027, but they were seeing people having a shorter lead time for weddings since Covid with many booking six to 12 months in advance of the day. Oldwalls Gower will be available for private tours on June 23. Click here to learn more.
