Outdoor heated pool near Coventry that feel likes you're on holiday

With the warm weather arriving, there's no better place to spend time relaxing than an outdoor heated pool. And one place located 90 minutes away from Coventry provides that holiday feeling.

A trip to the Severn Centre, located in Bridgnorth takes you through the stunning Shropshire countryside while driving until you see an ordinary-looking leisure centre. But hidden behind the centre is an outdoor pool which is heated to 29 degrees in the summer.

And fear not, it will be reopening this weekend on Saturday, May 4 for the summer. Families can enjoy the open green space for picnics with benches to enjoy the sun, and there are noodles, pool toys and floats for the kids to enjoy.

A spokesperson for Halo Leisure which runs the pool said: "The outdoor heated swimming pool at The Severn Centre opens for the summer season on Saturday, May 4.

This year you can enjoy a range of swimming sessions including swim for fitness (lane swimming), social swimming, family time, aqua aerobics group exercise classes, swimming lessons and quiet time (a welcoming, sensory-friendly, gentle and relaxed experience. Other facilities include free parking, park and grassed area and picnic area."

In addition, there's also a large playground with a skate park, zip wire, an outdoor pitch, a sports hall, a library and a gym. You have to join to use the facilities but there's no membership fee and online registration is simple.

A selection of sessions is available weekly from May to September from quiet time, family swim time to swim tots and swim for fitness. Booking in advance is essential as places are limited. You can book a pay-as-you-go session up to seven days in advance online via the Halo Leisure Seven Centre website here, over the phone at 01746 860000 or in the centre. Alternatively, you can take out a Halo membership to get free access to any of the swimming sessions.
