Outer Range's Josh Brolin teases "different" season 2 with naked Instagram photo

Josh Brolin has given fans quite the teaser for the second season of Outer Range.

The Avengers: Endgame actor is set to reprise his role as a rancher named Royal, though he promised a "different direction" for the next instalment of the western thriller, while posting a naked photo.

It is the thought the second season will pick up after the events of the first, which saw the Abbott family come to terms with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca and protecting their land from rivals.

The behind-the-scenes snap saw Brolin lounging on a deck chair in the middle of the desert, in just a cowboy hat.

He captioned the eye-catching photo: "Prepping for a scene for Outer Range Season 2.

"We are taking things in a different direction now. It's a shifting world and we have to be sensitive to all. Power of example is everything, so examples we are.

"We aren't supposed to post photos from the show but this isn't really during the show, but rather lunch outside in the beautiful Santa Fe desert."

He added: "Thank you @brianbowensmith for documenting our most private moments on the set."

The surprising promotion for the Prime Video show left his followers certain that they’d tune into watch, as Brolin's wife Kathryn commented: "Oh I thought they weren’t releasing the poster till later this year!!"

The second season has been taken over by Sons of Anarchy showrunner Charles Murray, after Brian Watkins stepped down after the first season.

Alongside the Dune actor, the cast features Schitt’s Creek star Noah Reid, Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Will Patton and Lewis Pullman.

Outer Range season one is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
