Outnumbered is reuniting the Brockman family for a Christmas special after eight years away from screens - but what became of the child cast after the last time we saw them together?

The BBC has announced that the sitcom, which ran from 2007 to 2014 and last aired in a 2016 Christmas special, will join Gavin & Stacey in its festive line-up this year.

Sue (Claire Skinner) and Pete (Hugh Dennis) will invite all of their now-adult children, plus a grandchild, over for a traditional family Christmas - but like anything involving the Brockman family, it doesn't quite go to plan.

All three former child stars will return to their roles, as well as Dennis and Skinner who are now a couple in real life, too. Dennis said: "Pete and Sue have downsized, the children are no longer children, but I’m sure family life will prove to be just as chaotic as ever."

Skinner added: "I’m really looking forward to being reunited with my TV family. Working on this wonderful BBC comedy doesn’t feel like work and is one of the greatest joys for us all."

Here's what the young cast have been up to since finding fame on the BBC comedy.

The Brockmans' eldest child Jake is played by Tyger Drew-Honey, who is now 28 and has racked up a long list of credits since Outnumbered ended.

His most prominent role in the years in between has been as Dylan in BBC sitcom Cuckoo, where his co-stars included Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner, Andie MacDowell and Greg Davies.

Drew-Honey also had a recurring role in Citizen Khan and has appeared in Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise and Grantchester.

As a TV presenter, his work has included Friday Download and docuseries Tyger Takes On..., while he's also featured in reality shows Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity MasterChef.

It looks like the actor has stayed close to his former co-stars, too, as he has posted photos on social media of meet-ups with his screen siblings from Outnumbered.

Daniel Roche played chaotic middle child Ben and made a big impression on the world of comedy at the time, bagging a nomination for best newcomer at the British Comedy Awards.

He also landed the lead role in a 2010 adaptation of Just William while still in Outnumbered, which won a children's BAFTA for best drama.

Now 24, Roche has posted on social media about staying in touch with his Outnumbered co-stars and has made appearances in children's TV series including Dani's House, Blue Peter and Pet School, although he hasn't been seen in other projects recently. He is also a keen rugby player.

Littlest Brockman Karen was played by Ramona Marquez, who is now 23 and clearly still close to her screen brothers.

Marquez made a few appearances in high-profile films during her time on Outnumbered, including The King's Speech, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and a voice role in Arthur Christmas.

However, since the sitcom ended she seems to have turned her back on acting and has been enjoying life away from the spotlight.
