Over 200 Pets Set Record for 'Most Dogs Attending a Film Screening' at “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie ”in L.A.

219 dogs attended a special early screening at the Autry Museum in Griffith Park

Some film buff pups just achieved a Guinness World Record.

Last Sunday, 219 dogs (and their families) attended a special early screening of the highly-anticipated PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie in Los Angeles. The event won the gathered group the honor of "most dogs attending a film screening," according to a press release provided to PEOPLE.

The screening for furry friends was hosted by Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society and Street Food Cinema. Together, they managed to dethrone the previous official record for dogs at a single screening, which was set in Oct. 2022 and included 199 dogs.

Michael Empric, an official adjudicator for Guinness World Records, was on hand to make everything official on Sunday.

Empric said in a statement, "I was so excited to adjudicate this Guinness World Records attempt for most dogs attending a film screening. It’s not every day I get to enjoy an 'Officially Amazing' time at the movies with hundreds of furry friends. I'd like to congratulate Paramount Pictures and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie for their 'paw-some' new record title!"

Brittany Thorn, executive director of the Best Friends Animal Society in L.A., added, “We are thrilled to have worked with the team at Paramount Pictures to break the [Guinness World Record] for most dogs at a film screening. I hope people reading about this milestone will be inspired to get out and adopt."

'PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie' receives their Guinness World Records certificate

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie follows the adventures of the Paw Patrol pups like Chase and Skye after a mysterious meteor crash-lands in Adventure city, giving the pups superpowers. The voice cast includes Mckenna Grace, Taraji P. Henson, Kim Kardashian, Chris Rock and Serena Williams.

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie hits theaters on Friday.
