Ozzy Osbourne has admitted his fears for his upcoming reality TV return after the first show 'drove his family crazy'.

The 74-year-old Black Sabbath singer will be coming back to our screens with wife Sharon for a new show which sees the family relocate from California to Buckinghamshire for a new life.

Their original series, The Osbournes, catapulted the family - completed by daughter Kelly and son Jack – to a new level of fame when it ran from 2002 to 2005. Their eldest daughter, Aimee, declined to be involved.

However, speaking about the upcoming series, patriarch Ozzy admitted doing the show badly affected on his family.

"I don’t know how The Kardashians have done it for so long. It sent us crazy at the end," Ozzy told SiriusXM radio listeners.

"I am not sorry I did it, but after three or four years I said, 'Do you know what? We’re going to lose somebody because it is getting too crazy'."

Despite being in metal band Black Sabbath for decades prior to the show, Ozzy admitted he wasn't prepared for the level of fame the series gave the family.

"There is rock and roll fame, which is pretty intense, but that Osbourne level was just unbelievable," he explained, adding that Jack and Kelly, who were just 17 and 18 when the show started, got the worst end of the deal.

"The kids paid for it. They all ended up doing drugs," he said. "Jack got clean and sober on that show, Kelly messed up on that show, I was messed up and Sharon got cancer."

It's not known how much of a role Kelly and Jack will play in the upcoming series, with both now having families of their own to look after in the US.

The new series, which will air on the BBC, was announced in September 2022, with Clare Sillery, head of commissioning on BBC documentaries, saying in a statement: "Twenty years ago the Osbournes left Britain for a life in LA. Now they are coming ‘home to roost’, back to their family home, pretty much as they left it all those years ago.
