Paisley police appeal for information after man left with "serious facial injury"

Paisley cops are appealing for information after a man was left with a “serious facial injury”.

A 25-year-old man was assaulted on Monday evening near to the town centre.

Around 7pm, the man and a woman were walking along Gilmour Street near to the Cenotaph when they became involved in an altercation with two men and a woman.

The disturbance resulted in the man being assaulted in a lane next to Gilmour Street. He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a serious facial injury.

The suspect is described as being a white man with dark hair and dark facial hair.

He was wearing a blue and red jacket, a black Guns and Roses T-shirt, dark trousers and white hi-top Nike Dunk trainers. He was also carrying a Lidl carrier bag.

Detective Constable Kate Wason, from Paisley CID, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible for this serious assault and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have information that could assist our investigation.

“We are appealing to members of the public who either witnessed what happened, or who saw a man in the area matching the above description, to please get in touch.”
