Pak activist Malala's friend Shazia returns home after recovery

Islamabad, Nov. 9 (ANI): A friend of Malala Yousufzai, the 15-year-old education campaigner, who was also wounded by the Taliban, has returned home after recovering from her injuries. Shazia, who returned home after receiving medical treatment for a month at the Combined Military Hospital in Peshawar, said she has fully recovered from her injuries and is thankful to the Pakistani Army and the government for providing her with optimal medical care, reports The Express Tribune. During the October 9 attack, Malala was shot in the neck and head, while two other girls, Shazia and Kainat, sustained injuries. Malala is now recuperating at a hospital in Birmingham, UK and is said to be making good progress. Shazia said she prays for Malala and looks forward to returning to school with her. Kainat Riaz, the other classmate of Malala who was injured in the same attack, returned to school last Saturday after 25 days of medical care and bed rest. However, she has not been able to attend school regularly due to an acute fever. (ANI)
