Pamela Anderson begs ‘role model’ Kim Kardashian to ditch fur and ‘dress more compassionately’

Pamela Anderson has made a public appeal to Kim Kardashian to stop wearing fur.

The former Baywatch actress and animal rights activist said the reality TV star needs to “dress more compassionately” as she is a “role model” to millions of young fans.

Anderson said she has written to Kardashian explaining why she should go fur-free, but revealed she is yet to receive a response.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain she told hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: “I’ve been an activist right from day one. I think sometimes activism can be annoying, sometimes people think they’re better than somebody else.

“I feel like girl-to-girl Kim has a great heart and she’s an influencer. She has millions of followers all over the world and if she should choose to not wear fur.”

Anderson continued: “I wrote her a letter and saw her at [New York] Fashion Week. No response yet. I talk to many people in the public eye to dress more compassionately because you’re a role model and I think that’s important.”

Her public plea comes days after she wrote an open letter to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star encouraging her to follow in the footsteps of First Lady Melania Trump and model Gisele Bündchen who fronted Vogue Paris magazine’s August 2017 issue wearing faux fur.

She wrote: “It was lovely seeing you at New York Fashion Week. I've had the pleasure of getting to know you over the years, and I can tell you're a good person with a big, beautiful heart.

My forever mood

“I'm writing to ask you to extend your compassion to real fashion victims—the animals who are violently killed in the fur trade—by swearing off fur this winter. I think you'd be horrified to learn that every single fur farm that PETA has exposed has been beyond cruel.”

She gave examples of the cruelty faced by animals in the fur trade before finishing: “You know I love you, and you can be a hero for animals as well as a great example to all your beautiful followers by swearing off fur. Please do the right thing. You'd be praised all over the world, including by my close friends at PETA.”

Kardashian was recently branded “disgusting” for dressing her daughter North in fur days after she was branded a “fur hag” while out shopping with her half-sister Kendall Jenner in New York.
