How to take part in new BBC travel reality show with huge cash prize

A new BBC travel reality show will see contestants compete for a "life-changing" cash prize.

With the working title of Travel Show, it will be produced by Twofour Productions. A teaser for the show reads: "Do you love solving clues and outsmarting your competition? If yes, then we want to hear from you! Throughout this experience you will be embarking on an epic journey, with the chance of winning a life changing cash prize at the end!".

Show makers have described the Travel Show as the perfect blend of two of the BBC’s most popular shows, Race Across the World and the Claudia Winkleman-fronted reality show The Traitors.

The BBC and Twofour will also be producing their new adventure competition, Destination X, for the US and UK. The show is based on an award-winning Belgian format, combining spectacular adventure travel and immersive gameplay with the ultimate guessing game.

Production will begin later this year.

Kate Phillips, director of Unscripted at the BBC, said about Destination X: “Following the huge success of The Traitors, we’re really pleased to be partnering once again with NBC on this brilliant new format.

"The tender process was extremely competitive, but Twofour’s innovative and creative vision for the show means that we know we have the perfect producers to take us on this exciting journey. We can’t wait to get on board the Destination X bus and bring this exciting new show to a BBC audience.”

How to apply

Filming will take place in October and November 2024, so applicants must be available for filming in these months.

To apply, you must be over 18 and a UK resident. You must also:

• Hold a passport less than 10 years old on the day you enter. Filming will be in October - November 2024.

• Hold a passport that is valid up to May 2025.
