Chris Sutton and Paul Merson are expecting Liverpool's hopes of winning the Premier League to fizzle out this weekend - with both pundits expecting the Reds to drop points at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's side head into Sunday's meeting off the back of just one win in four games across all competitions and suffered just a third defeat of the season to Crystal Palace last time out in the Premier League.

Liverpool are currently third in the table behind Arsenal and Manchester City, who are in FA Cup semi-final action this weekend, and know they must defeat Marco Silva's side to pursue their wish of delivering Klopp a dream send-off at the end of the season.

However, both Merson and Sutton think the Reds will struggle at Craven Cottage this weekend, with little to separate the two sides in their three meetings across all competitions this season.

In his SportsKeeda column, Merson, after predicting a 1-1 draw in West London, wrote: "Fulham have caused teams problems this season and Liverpool are coming on the back of an abysmal week, much like Arsenal.

"They are struggling a bit in front of goal and look like they have sort of fizzled out in recent weeks. I think they'll drop points once again, effectively ending their title hopes.

"Jurgen Klopp knows the Premier League title is not in his hands anymore, so he'll go full strength in Italy and look to get a result. Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have misfired in front of goal.

"Diogo Jota is a top-class player and could be in with a chance of breaking into the starting XI, but I doubt they'll turn to Cody Gakpo."

Sutton is also expecting Liverpool's title challenge to suffer this weekend, with the former Premier League striker predicting a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.

In his BBC Sport predictions, Sutton wrote: "All three games between these teams this season have been close, and I am expecting more of the same on Sunday.

"Liverpool won a thriller 4-3 at Anfield in the league, followed by a 2-1 home win in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. I was at Craven Cottage for the second leg, which ended up a 1-1 draw.

"This is a must-win for Jurgen Klopp's side to keep their title hopes alive, because their season has started to unravel.

"What happens there will tell us a lot about where Liverpool are at, but if they show any weaknesses at the weekend, Fulham are good enough to punish them. Liverpool 1-1 Fulham."
