Paul Mescal, Quentin Tarantino and Rita Moreno to Be Honored at Academy Museum Gala

Paul Mescal, Quentin Tarantino and Rita Moreno will be honored at the fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala. Co-chairs for the event are Dr. Eric Esrailian, Salma Hayek Pinault, Nicole Kidman, Eva Longoria and Tyler Perry. The gala will be held on Oct. 19 at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.

The three awards presented at this year’s Academy Museum Gala display the museum’s goal of advancing the understanding, celebration and preservation of film and challenge narratives. Mescal will be presented with the Vantage Award, which honors an emerging artist who is contributing to contextualizing and challenging dominant narratives in film. Moreno will be presented with the Icon Award, which celebrates artists whose career has had a remarkable impact around the world. Tarantino will be honored with the Luminary Award, which is awarded to an artists whose work has expanded creative possibilities in cinema.

The annual event serves to help raise funds to support museum exhibitions, education initiatives, public programming, screenings, K–12 programs and access initiatives for the public and community of Los Angeles. This year’s gala is partnered with Rolex.
