Peaky Blinders film rumoured to have cast huge A-list star

A major A-list star is rumoured to have asked for a role in the eagerly-anticipated Peaky Blinders film. It comes after it was given the official greenlight by Netflix.

Cillian Murphy, the Oppenheimer star and Academy Award-winning actor, is set to star and produce film continuing the story of the Shelby family, who hail from Birmingham. The BBC show's movie will come from a script by series creator Steven Knight, who revealed filming would start in Digbeth in September.

Betting experts have now named Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt one of the favourites to be cast alongside Cillian Murphy and co. The Fight Club actor, 60, has previously revealed his love for the BBC series, based on the notorious Birmingham gang who had razor blades sewn into their caps.

Odds predict Brad has a 5/2 shot of appearing, while Irish actor Barry Keoghan is odds-on to feature at 10/11. David Beckham is as short as 6/1 to make a cameo appearance , while Martin Freeman (7/1), Ray Winstone (9/1) & Vinnie Jones (14/1) are also considered for the line-up.

Most notably Brad Pitt, who loves the show and it’s been rumored he’s already asked to be cast. “Hot property Barry Keoghan also looks a shoo-in after his acclaimed performance in Saltburn - oh, and being Irish is the icing on the cake. I’m actually surprised he’s not shorter in the betting, so the 10/11 on offer looks a ‘blinder’ of a price for him to star with Cillian Murphy.

“Snoop Dogg is another who has reportedly asked to figure in the movie - while, aside from the obvious calls of Colin Farrell (3/1), Ray Winstone (9/1) and Vinnie Jones (14/1), it could be another ex-footballer that also gets in on the act with David Beckham only 6/1 to make a cameo."
