Peaky Blinders has officially finished filming its anticipated fifth season, though fans are still none the wiser as to when it will actually air.

The BBC show's official Instagram account confirmed the news over the weekend, sharing a picture of the series' cast and crew together at the end of the shoot.

"That’s a wrap! By order of the #PeakyBlinders cast and crew," reads the caption.

As well as familiar faces, the new season is set to get some new additions, including The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin, who will play fascist leader Oswald Mosley.

His real-life character is no doubt set to clash with Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby, who has just been elected an MP.

Alongside him, the new episodes will also welcome The New Mutants' Anya Taylor-Joy, The Bisexual's Brian Gleeson and Hollyoaks' Emmett J Scanlan.

Rumours also circulated recently that David Beckham would make a cameo appearance in the new season, especially after he posted pictures from the set.

However, these have been firmly put to bed, with Peaky Blinders telling Digital Spy: "We are not aware of David Beckham appearing in series five of Peaky Blinders."

Peaky Blinders will move to BBC One when it returns later in 2019.
