Pendle gardeners reminded to renew garden waste subscription

WEST Craven gardeners are being reminded now is the time to renew their garden waste subscription.

The current subscription for Pendle Borough Council’s green bin collection scheme ends on June 30. Cost for the year, starting in July is £41 - the same as last year; collections do not take place in the winter months, December, January and February.

Garden waste is collected fortnightly, on the same day as recycling. and for rural properties, it is collected on the same day as general refuse.

Gardeners who are not currently on the scheme can also sign up now says the council.

David Walker, Pendle Borough Council's assistant director of operational services, said: “At just over £2 per collection, it’s a cost-effective and eco-friendly way to recycle your garden waste.

“People on the scheme need to pay by Monday June 10 if they want to continue getting their green bin emptied and not miss any collections from 1 July onwards.”
