Peng Shuai Makes Appearance at Beijing Tennis Competition

Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai made an appearance at a tennis competition in Beijing on November 21, amid concerns for her safety after she made a sexual assault allegation against a former Chinese vice premier.

Peng appeared at the FILA KIDS Diamond Cup Youth Tennis Challenge at Beijing’s National Tennis Center, where she signed tennis balls for children. Videos of her appearance were also posted to Twitter by Chinese state media.

The Women’s Tennis Association has called for a full investigation into Peng’s allegations. Amnesty International also called for China to prove Peng was safe and for the allegations to be investigated. Credit: China Open via Storyful
