Penn Badgley and Kevin Bacon team up for a Taylor Swift TikTok challenge

TikTokers have been spinning their pets around for internet clout, soundtracked by Taylor Swift's "August" — and now, Penn Badgley and Kevin Bacon have gotten in on the action.

The Gossip Girl star posted a video to his TikTok that showed him running through a building before grabbing the  Footloose actor by the arms and twirling him around.

The duo presumably recorded the video around the same time that Bacon appeared on Badgley's podcast Podcrushed. The episode premiered Wednesday.

Bacon had previously partaken in the trend by posting a goofy, borderline-parodic take on the "August" phenomenon by shooting footage of his pet goats and then holding a comically tiny toy goat as he spun in circles. "No actual goats were harmed in making this video," the actor clarified in the video's caption.

This also isn't Badgley's first time turning to Swift's music for TikTok virality. The You actor embraced "Anti-Hero," the lead single from Midnights, in his first video on the platform. "I thought for years, 'I'll get a TikTok when the time is right,'" Badgley told Rolling Stone. "And then when Taylor's record came out, it just seemed the song wouldn't have worked with anybody else. Me. Joe. Anti-Hero. Taylor Swift? It just was the perfect moment."

Bacon expressed his musical admiration for Swift on his own podcast, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, earlier this month. After reflecting on the surreal experience of performing with Billy Joel, his next pie-in-the-sky wish was to share the stage with the "Shake It Off" singer. (Bacon has regularly performed with his band the Bacon Brothers for almost 30 years.) "I've never seen her. No, I haven't seen her. I really need to," Bacon said of Swift. "I really do admire her though. I think she's a great songwriter and I think that what she's done with just her messaging and the messages she gives to young women, it's just, it's awesome."
