Personal trainer Courtney Black on how her body changed after a holiday

Personal trainer Courtney Black, whose online workouts have been a saviour for many throughout lockdown, has shared a candid post on how her body has changed after going on holiday – and how she's totally cool with it. Yes, Courtney!

Telling her followers that in the past she would come back from breaks – during which her regular diet and training plan would be put on pause (naturally) – feeling unhappy, but now she's focussing on the fun she had while away over anything else. It's an experience that a lot of people go through, so it's great to see her using her platform to discuss it so openly.

Courtney posted two pictures of herself to her 655,000 followers, telling them how refreshed she feels after her break and what a joy it is to come home without fixating on whatever number the scales are showing.

"Okay so for the last 4/5 days while I’ve been away I have been eating out three times a day, done zero exercise and drinking lots and lots of wine," Courtney captioned her photo. "I’ve had such a good time. Now I am bloated and I have defo gained weight over the weekend... but I couldn’t care less and for once, after holiday, I haven’t stepped on the scales!

"I used to come back from holiday feeling so crap and beating myself up over my holiday. I haven’t felt anything today but pure joy! I’ve had the best holiday I feel fresh, relaxed and amazing. The little bit of weight I have gained will be gone by the end of the week but the memories from my weekend away will last forever."

She also gave her followers a few pointers on what she'll be doing to ease back into her normal routine, which includes drinking plenty of water, not beating herself up and not cutting out any food groups. Courtney also shared that while on her break, although she allowed herself the odd treat (everything in moderation!), she didn't "take the p*ss!". Fair play.

"I’ll be drinking lots of water and just getting back into my normal routine. I won’t be cutting a food group out, cutting my calories or doing lots of cardio," she wrote. "I’m not going to weigh myself every single day and beat myself up, I’ve had a great time and besides you can’t beat memories!

"I ate what I liked on holiday but I didn’t take the pi**. I had an ice cream when I wanted but didn’t have five a day. I had pasta when I wanted but again didn’t have pasta, a whole stick of bread, desserts and fried foods all together. I knew how to curb my cravings, explore and have all the food I wanted but I didn’t binge!"

All in all, this sounds like pretty solid advice to us. Thanks for being so candid, Courtney!
