Pete Doherty UK tour: Former Libertines musician announces string of acoustic dates

Pete Doherty has announced a string of UK tour dates, starting at the end of January.

The acoustic tour will offer fans a chance to see The Libertines singer play intimate venues in Liverpool, Glasgow, Carlisle and Newcastle starting on 27 January.

Tickets and information for the tour can be found here.

A post on Doherty’s Twitter reads: “Peter’s Flying solo for 4 intimate gigs later this month. Tickets just went on sale, get one while you can.”

The tweet also confirms that there will be “more news and dates to follow”.

Doherty’s 2016 solo album Hamburg Demonstrations received three stars in a review from The Independent, our critic described the record as “an odd mix of ambition and disorder, with Doherty’s familiar raggedy-ass rock tempered with poignant moments”.

Fresh from headlining a string of festivals last summer, The Libertines are currently working on their follow up to their 2015 album, Anthems For Doomed Youth, their first since 2004s self-titled sophomore record.

The band were also notably part of The Cure frontman Robert Smith's Meltdown festival last summer, a concert which saw them play alongside acclaimed acts such as Nine Inch Nails, Manic Street Preachers and Placebo.

Doherty recently donated a selection of his artwork to an exhibition and auction that works on the rehabilitation of prisoners. The pieces were on show in a pop-up gallery from the Stretch charity for the “Outsider Art” festival in Margate.

Peter Doherty Live and Acoustic runs from 27-31 January, with more dates to follow.
