Peter Andre has expressed his fondness for a unique name as he decides what to call his newborn daughter.

The singer recently welcomed his third child with wife Dr Emily MacDonagh at the beginning of April but they are yet to give their little one a name.

Peter and Emily, who already have kids Millie and Theo together, are said to be considering 'Seren' which means 'star' in Welsh.

In an interview with WalesOnline ahead of his upcoming performance at the Foodies Festival in Cardiff this May, Peter shared that they haven't settled on a name yet, weeks after the birth of their daughter.

He admitted: "We haven't got a name yet, which is very strange."

Speaking of his family's disbelief that they haven't decided what to call their daughter yet, he said: "Honestly I had one of my cousins ring me going, 'Have you got a name but you're just not telling anyone?

"'I said, 'No, literally.' Really, this happened with my daughter Millie. We called her Rose until we had to register her six weeks later, and then we realised Rose didn't suit her."

When presented with Welsh names, the dad-of-five, who also shares his kids Princess and Junior with his ex-wife Katie Price, showed particular enthusiasm for the name Seren, as he exclaimed: "I love that! "

The 51-year-old seemed charmed by the name's meaning and its cultural significance.

Peter enthused about Welsh names, saying: "I would [choose a Welsh name] because someone else suggested Irish as well.

"There are similarities, maybe not completely, but even with Carys and Seren, there are a couple of Irish names that were mentioned to me that are similar to that. It's giving me this thinking outside the box."

The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker then recounted how he first 'fell in love' with the Welsh accent back in the early 2000s.

It was when Peter was approached for an early series of Channel 4's Big Brother, a gig he declined but admits he became captivated by contestant Imogen Thomas' voice while watching the show.

He said: "I'm thankful to her because she got me into the Welsh accent just by being on that show."

Peter is set to appear before fans at the upcoming Foodies Festival in Cardiff's Bute Park, scheduled from May 10 to 12.

The festival, dubbed Gastro-Glastonbury, promises a feast of entertainment with Peter performing and cooking alongside a stellar lineup of stars.

Attendees can expect live cooking demos from TV favourites and culinary maestros from shows like MasterChef, Great British Bake Off, and Great British Menu.

Peter, a self-proclaimed 'foodie' who recently appeared on ITV's Cooking with the Stars, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event and revealed that he is the main cook at home.

He said: "I'm a bit obsessed with cooking. I have about four or five signature dishes that I love doing. Everything from peanut butter chicken with coconut rice to rib eye steak with cream and sweet chilli mushroom sauce and steam rice, and also Mediterranean-style rice. You can tell that rice is a big part of it."

At the forthcoming event, Peter will perform his iconic 1995 hit Mysterious Girl, a song that he admits has had an unexpectedly long lifespan.

He elaborated: "Someone recently said to me, 'Does it annoy you that you're only known for one song' I said, 'How could it annoy me to be known for a song?

" Imagine people who've released music and no one remembers any of them.' How lucky am I after all these years that people still sing Mysterious Girl.

"I still headline shows where I'll go and do it and the whole place will erupt, and it's just amazing."
