Peter Andre has given detailed why he and his wife Dr Emily Andrea opt not to show their children's faces online.

Andre, 47, and his 31-year-old wife conceal daughter Amelia, seven, and four-year-old son Theodore's faces in pictures so as to protect their identities because the parents don't want them to be recognised at school.

In a video to the family's YouTube channel, the father-of-four said: "Emily's point is that they weren't born into the media - no one has ever seen their faces so she doesn't really want anyone to see their faces.

"So when they go to school no one can really recognise them."

He went on to explain that his older children, Princess, 13, and Junior, 15, featured on reality programmes with him and their mother Katie Price from when they were infants, so it's a different situation for them.

"Obviously from J and P from day one, we were documenting our lives and they were part of that so I think they have always been in the media and that's the reasoning for it.

"So I have to respect Emily for that. She hasn't done it. She says once you do cross that, there's no going back so I'm like, 'OK, no problem'," he went on.

While married to Price, Andre appeared in a series of shows documenting their relationship and family life before their 2009 split.

He married his second wife, who was previously known as Emily MacDonagh, in 2015.

Last May while appearing on Loose Women live from his home, Andre got a surprise when his youngest wandered into the room he was giving the interview from.

The youngster's face was fleetingly shown on the programme as he climbed on his dad with Andre later stating he had landed himself in hot water with his wife as a result.

He wrote in his new! magazine column at the time: "It was a pure accident and very funny.

"I did end up in the doghouse over it, but hey, that's what happens with live TV and kids in the house!"
