Peter Andre has said he’s been the butt of the joke for 15 years over Rebekah Vardy’s 'chipolata' comment about him, and that it isn’t fair.

Vardy made the remark in an interview in 2001, saying the 'Mysterious Girl' singer had the 'smallest trouser equipment' she’d seen.

Speaking during the 'Wagatha Christie' trial at London's High Court this week, she claimed she was 'forced into a situation' by her ex-husband to do that story and that she regretted it.

Andre has now addressed her comments in an emotional video on Instagram, saying he’s had to endure years of mocking and that the fact it was brought up in court means it’s reaching more people.

He also said there would be “outrage” if someone had made similar comments about a woman’s anatomy.

“Seeing as I haven't had much of a say in this, and just let everyone have a laugh and whatever, I'm just going to put it out,” he said in the video.

“Fifteen years this has been going on and I kept quiet and I didn't say anything, and I let everyone have their laugh and I let everyone say what they wanted to say.

“Now, she's gone to court and admitted that the story was made up, and she did that because her ex-husband forced her to do it. Fair enough but, put that all aside, and just think how it feels that if a man — or if I had said this — about her anatomy, or a man had said something about a woman's anatomy, and made up something. You can use your imagination of saying something very unflattering.

"There would be outrage. There would be absolute outrage."

He went on: “But, because it's been said about me, it's been the butt of all jokes, I've took it for 15 years."

Andre said the fact it was mentioned in court means it’s all being brought up again.

“The only one that sits there and takes hit after hit about it is me,” he said.

“Think about how it would feel if it was the other way around, that's all I'm saying.”

“It's not fair that something like this can happen again and again and again and we talk about all sorts of things, about mental health, about being kind and all that sort of stuff, and nothing seems to change."

Andre, 49, also said he was sorry to his children and his wife Emily, as they had “to see and hear some not very nice things”.

Vardy is suing Coleen Rooney, the wife of Wayne Rooney, for libel after being accused of leaking information to the media.
