What did you miss?
Peter Andre has addressed his age gap with wife Emily, saying what matters is "how you are with each other".
The Mysterious Girl singer turned 51 this year, while his doctor wife is close to turning 35. He was quizzed about the age difference during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine, following reports that trolls had criticised Kym Marsh's relationship with a man 19 years her junior. Marsh, 48, posted a picture on Instagram of her kissing Samuel Thomas, her 29-year-old co-star in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical. "Met the most amazing man ever!" she wrote. "Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times. @samuelthomasuk I love you #beautiful #soulmate #loveyou."
Host Lorraine Kelly was talking about Marsh when Peter and Emily's age gap came up. While Andre was waiting to do his own interview, the TV host deferred to him to ask for his opinion on the age gap in his marriage.
What, how and why?
She said: "I'll tell you what, Peter Andre's with us. Now, Peter, there's a few years between you and Emily. But to be fair, she's very sensible, you're very young at heart, it sort of balances itself out."
Andre shared that while there were "little differences", the fact he's 16 years old that his wife wasn't an issue for them. Put on the spot, Andre joked: "I mean, she's not that sensible! She did marry me!" He went on: "But no, it’s how you are with each other [that matters]."
The star did say there were "little differences". "Music is one of the things I have noticed," he continued. "You know when they say something like, 'Ahh this is an old classic’ and it’s from like, 2015. Like what do you mean an old classic? We’re thinking 70s and 80s are old classics."
Peter Andre says his new baby is 'so beautiful'
Peter tied the knot with Emily in 2015, with the pair celebrating their anniversary this week. The couple have three children together - son Theo, seven, daughter Amelia, nine, and new baby Arabella, who was born in April.
Talking about having a newborn and sleepless nights, the star said: "Whatever I say is never going to be as little as the sleep that Emily gets because she is breastfeeding so I can’t complain - it’s definitely trying, the lack of sleep, but it’s such a blessing isn’t it? She’s so beautiful.”
Peter also has two children from his former marriage with Katie Price - daughter Princess, 17, who has started doing some modelling, and son Junior, 19, who is launching a music career.
Discussing how his kids are following in his footsteps, Peter said: “I am really trying to teach them about grafting - you can’t just get it, you’ve really got to work for it.”
