Barcelona misfit Philippe Coutinho wants to return to the Premier League, his agent has confirmed.

Coutinho has struggled to replicate the form which convinced Barca to part with £140m in the two years since his Liverpool exit.

A season on loan at Bayern Munich has ended with injury and a failure to land a permanent switch and now, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham, linked, his preference has been confirmed.

"He has a desire to come back to the Premier League at some point," Kia Joorabchian told Sky Sports.

"It may not happen this year, it may happen this year - we don't know. We have not discussed anything for now."

Reports in Spain over the weekend claimed Barcelona were holding out for a £9m fee to take Coutinho on loan, a number Joorabchian has denied.

"I have never heard those figures," the agent explained. "None of these numbers have ever been discussed."
