Is Phillip Schofield planning to return to the small screen?

Entertainment PR expert Lynn Carratt, from Press Box, told Yahoo: "Whatever path he chooses, he knows it will be a make-or-break situation for his future career."

Schofield resigned from This Morning in May last year following his "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague at ITV. For the past year, the 62-year-old TV presenter has been keeping a low-profile in the celebrity circles.

However, this weekend was the latest sign that the TV star could be planning a comeback to the TV circles. The former This Morning presenter was seen at the British Grand Prix arriving by helicopter while enjoying the outing with his family.

It was enough to spark chatter Schofield could be plotting a comeback but there are other signs, including a notable return to social media in recent weeks and hanging out with his celebrity friends.

So what could be next for Schofield? Carratt believes Schofield could consider reality TV, a memoir or even talk shows for his next move.

"Phillip Schofield seems to believe that now is the time for him to seek redemption from the British public and win back their favour. With over 40 years of experience in TV, it's his expertise, it’s all he’s ever done and I can imagine he feels at a loss," Carratt says.

"It has been reported that there have been discussions about him joining this year’s I'm A Celebrity, which could positively impact how the public perceives him. He also has a longstanding friendship with the hosts Ant and Dec, and it wouldn't be unprecedented for a celebrity to use the show to improve their public image, as seen with Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage in previous years.

"Additionally, Philip might consider writing a memoir to share his side of the story, which could be well-received by the public eager to learn about behind-the-scenes secrets of This Morning and hear Phillip’s side of the story in his own words.

"He also may have had TV offers from networks like GB News, Talk TV, whatever path he chooses, he knows it will be a make-or-break situation for his future career."

Yahoo has reached out to Phillip Schofield's representatives for further comment.

Schofield was pictured at the star-studded crowd at Silverstone this weekend. The likes of Hollywood's Brad Pitt as well as Jeremy Clarkson and Gordon Ramsay were also in attendance. Schofield was pictured arriving by helicopter and enjoying the day with his family.

Last August, smiling Schofield was seen with Vanessa Feltz on a night out. They were pictured leaving the Little Bird restaurant in Chiswick, west London. Their friendly meeting came just months after he resigned from This Morning.

At the time, there was talk Schofield could join forces with his friend at TalkTV. Pictures of the meet up at the trendy restaurant were obtained by the MailOnline.

In May this year, Schofield was pictured laughing with Declan Donnelly prompting speculation he could be heading to Oz and signing up for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here 2024.

Since May this year, Schofield has returned to social media. He took a year break from Instagram but now he's back with pictures of his fluffy dog Alfie. His posts update his following on what his dog Alfie has been up to.

In an emotional interview last June, Schofield said his TV career was "over".

The presenter shared his heartache over the affair and its fallout in the public eye. "I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart," he told The BBC. "I have lost everything."

"What am I going to do with my days?" He continued. "I see nothing ahead of me but blackness, and sadness, and regret, and remorse, and guilt. I did something very wrong, and then I lied about it consistently."
