Phillip Schofield is reportedly in talks for a television comeback.

Last month the presenter, who was spotted dining with I'm A Celebrity host, Declan Donnelly, has fuelled speculation that he might join the new series of the jungle show.

After leaving This Morning in May 2023 following his admission of an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague, insiders believe that Ant and Dec view Phillip's potential participation in I'm A Celebrity as the "best move" for him. The 62 year old took a break from the limelight but has recently been seen at a lengthy dinner with Dec and made a return to social media.

Sources speaking to Bella Magazine said: "Phillip is not the same since being away from TV, it's what he's done all his life and all he's wanted. There are whispers that Ant and Dec are eager to have him on I'm A Celeb."

Another source, as reported by the Express said: "He's very much looking for a TV comeback and to do it in the right way. He's always got on well with both Ant and Dec and they have a long friendship. They're making sure he knows they're there for him and asking if he needs anything."

It's also been suggested by insiders that TV chiefs have approached Schofield about a possible return to broadcasting, with friends encouraging him to "consider it", as reported by Heat Magazine. Whether Schofield will make a return to television or perhaps radio remains uncertain, but the offers are apparently on the table.

Representatives for Phillip, Ant and Dec, and the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! team have been reached for a comment, reports the Mirror.

Phillip Schofield confessed that he "lost everything" after confessing an affair with a younger co-worker. This prompted his exit from This Morning, following over two decades on the show.

The seasoned presenter first hosted the programme with Fern Britton for seven years, then Holly Willoughby took over. She also departed the show just last October, after gracing it for 14 years.

A year since his departure, Phillip made a comeback on Instagram recently, sharing a photo of himself and his dog Alfie engrossed in Formula One. His caption read: "Thankfully, Alfie is a big @f1 fan."

Restricted comments were available under the post, Matilda Graham, Phillip's solicitor niece, dropped a hearts in eyes emoji. An author from Brighton, Fran Quinn, remarked: "Very cute!

Alice Beer, This Morning's consumer expert, also wrote: "Funny! Stan cannot see anything on the tv. Just doesn't register". Food writer Kate Bishop had her say as well, commenting: "F1 squared. ".

With over 80,000 likes, the post has attracted popularity, receiving thumbs up from Phillip's ex-colleagues on This Morning like Rochelle Humes, Craig Doyle, Dermot O'Leary, and Josie Gibson.
