Emergency services descended upon the city centre on Friday evening.

Catherine Street was closed by Wiltshire Police after the fire service was called to an incident in Marks and Spencer.

UPDATES: Road closed as fire service called to M&S

Wiltshire Police said on Facebook: "We are currently assisting the fire service with a fire at Marks and Spencer in New Canal Street, Salisbury.

"Due to the fire, and vehicles at the scene, we have a road closure in place in Catherine Street.

"Please avoid the area while the incident is dealt with."
