These Incredible Pictures Of Moscow’s Metro Stations Will Make Commuting Seem Even More Depressing

With their high-arched ceilings, glitzy chandeliers, lashings of marble and intricate gilt details, these pictures may look like the interior of a decadent royal palace. In fact these vaulted halls are Moscow’s Metro stations - and they’re about as different as you can get from a grotty bus stop in the UK. The stations were snapped by Canadian photographer David Burdeny, who spent a year fighting to be granted access to the station after hours so he could picture their full glory without the throng of passengers. Just try not to think about them when you’re waiting on a packed train platform in the rain.
