Torrential rain and strong gales have battered Britain this week leaving four people dead villages flooded and some homes severely damaged. Water levels in the Thames, Trent and Severn remain high despite heavy rain easing off. The weather is expected to turn cold and frosty in the coming days, with more rain next week.
