These are the first images of a mother-of-three left fighting for her life after she was hit by a car while pushing a buggy.

Becky Sharp, who is in her 30s, moved the pushchair out of harm's way just before she was hit by a Toyota RAV4.

Dale Clark, 38, of New Milton, Hampshire, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision and drink-driving. He was due to appear before magistrates on Thursday (13 April).

The incident happened near a play park in Bournemouth, Dorset, at 9am on Tuesday (11 April).

Sharp is believed to have just dropped her two other daughters at a holiday playgroup and was walking with her 11-month-old baby when she was hit.

Emergency services including two air ambulances were called to the scene and Sharp was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with a life-threatening head injury.

The baby inside the pram was unharmed but taken to hospital as a precaution.

Dorset Police has appealed for any witnesses, particularly those with dash cams who were travelling in the area at the time, to come forward.

Sharp’s father Allan told MailOnline: "We are all just hoping and praying that she pulls through.

"She’s a brave fighter always has been, and she will want to be there for her three girls. She is a fantastic mum."

A South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said: "We were called at 9am to an incident in Bournemouth.

"We sent two air ambulances, three double-crewed land ambulances an operations officer and a doctor and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital and one patient by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital."
