Piers Corbyn anti-vaxxers storm pantomime in latest 'freedom' stunt

Piers Corbyn and other anti-vaxxers have stormed a pantomime show in the latest “freedom” stunt.

A video shared on social media showed Corbyn making a speech against COVID passports inside the Milton Keynes Theatre on Wednesday after “forcing” his way into the venue.

The theatre requires all people over the age of 18 to show their COVID status to gain entry.

Actor Pete Firman, who was performing in the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime, accused the protesters of “terrifying young children”.

"Anti-vaxxers disrupting the interval at our Pantomime today,” he wrote on social media.

“Police had to be called to deal with it and forcibly remove them.”

Milton Keynes Theatre confirmed protesters had entered the foyer during a performance.

They added in a statement to Whatsonstage.com: "Regarding the events this afternoon: A group of protestors forced their way into our foyer during the matinee [performance].

“Although we respect the right to choose whether to have a vaccination, we rebuke the actions taken that saw our staff and patrons frightened and assaulted.

"At a time when customers should be enjoying the fun and excitement of panto, it's sad to see the visit for our customers marred in this way.

“We praise the efforts of our staff this afternoon in what was a very difficult situation and thank our customers for their support.

"Milton Keynes Theatre and Ambassador Theatre Group will continue to follow government Covid-19 guidelines to keep our staff, customers and visiting company as safe as possible, and to enable live theatre to continue during this pandemic."

Meanwhile, police have called for the public to share information with them following an anti-vaccination protest at a test and trace centre in Milton Keynes on Wednesday.

Dozens of marchers entered the facility and appeared to damage testing equipment in videos shared on social media.

Videos of the protest appear to show a crowd of marchers entering the test and trace centre and throwing traffic cones towards the marquee set up to administer tests.

Other protesters are shown knocking down signs for the testing centre, while the crowd is heard shouting “shame on you”.

Some of the crowd are shown approaching centre staff and filming them on their mobile phones.

Matthew Barber, police and crime commissioner for Thames Valley, said it was “appalling” to see the protest “escalate into something much uglier”.

He added he had spoken to Thames Valley Police officers to discuss the police response on Wednesday evening, and said that “criminal offences will be investigated and appropriate action taken”.

The force said that no arrests had been made, but that they had footage of the incident.

Earlier this month, Corbyn was arrested on suspicion of encouraging people to attack MPs’ offices.

The arrest was related to a video shared on social media showing Corbyn criticising politicians who voted for COVID restrictions.
