Piers Morgan has declared he wants Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be stripped of their royal titles.

The broadcaster has been a frequent critic of the couple and stood down from his job on Good Morning Britain after refusing to apologise to Markle after accusing her of lying.

Morgan took to Twitter to air his view about the couple, writing: "King Charles needs to strip these two poisonous rats of all remaining titles & ties to the Royal Family.. and needs to do it fast before they destroy the Monarchy."

In the trailer, Harry alleges people "were happy to lie to protect my brother, but never willing to tell the truth to protect us".

Morgan further criticised the couple on social media: "Imagine being the Royal Family still grieving the loss of your great Matriarch just a few weeks ago, and now having to endure two relatives who deserted royal duty & Britain for riches in America, publicly trashing you as racists & liars week after week? It’s so disgusting."

The second part of Harry and Meghan's documentary looks set to explore their lives after they made the decision to step down as working members of the royal family.

Markle also makes reference to the controversial decision to remove the couple's security detail shortly after they announced their decision to move to Canada.

Since stepping down as working members of the royal family, the couple have announced deals with Spotify and Netflix to produce content for the streaming services.
