Good Morning Britain co-presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid are celebrating five years hosting the popular ITV breakfast show.
The pair have proven a hit with viewers in their time on the programme, and they celebrated their successful “TV marriage” on the show today.
Welcoming viewers to the show, Reid joked: “And they said it wouldn’t last! Or I did. Today we celebrate, if that’s the right word, five years of Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.”
Morgan added: “Who would have thought it? It's been a rocky road, to put it mildly.”
Reid continued: “Five years ago when the editor walked into my dressing room and said, ‘We have a proposal, which is Piers Morgan might come and sit next to you on the programme,’ I had to take my microphone off because I didn’t want anybody else to hear my reaction to that news.
“Five years, congratulations, well done, you have put up with a lot as well.”

She added: “You are a fantastic pair on television, you are both immensely watchable. Richard and I love watching you. But I couldn’t possibly have been working with you [Piers] all those years.”
