Yahoo News Piers reduced Susanna to tears when he started on GMB
While they're used to trading jibes on Good Morning Britain now, it seems that was not initially the case for Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan.
In fact, Susanna has revealed that she used to come off in tears when Piers first joined the ITV show, which she began to dread, and it all came to a head when he criticised the 2017 Women's March.
"He said there should be a men's march and got a bee in his bonnet about radical feminists wanting to cut men off at the knees and create a world without men, and I felt kind of responsible for what he thought," Susanna told the Radio Times (via Metro).
She added: "The man sitting next to me was spouting off whatever he believes, which I don't agree with... but I had men telling me it was my fault he was saying this. And I was just like, I've had enough of men telling me how I should be a feminist. I've had enough of it."
As for presenting with Piers, Susanna admitted it was a "constant battle", adding: "Sometimes I open my mouth to ask a question and hear Piers's voice come out – so you can't help but go into battle with him every morning.
"I know it's not personal, but there was a time when I took this a lot more seriously, and personally, than I do now.
"I just realised, that's not my responsibility. He can say anything he likes. Someone said to me recently, 'Piers goes around setting fires, you put them out.' But on days when I can't put the fire out, that's fine. That's when I made my peace with it."
