Singer and equality advocate Pink has hit out at racism, telling her Twitter followers that if they are racist or sexist they should unfollow her:"You have my blessing. Go. Go now."

In recent days, Pink has been vocal in her support of the Black Lives Matter movement – and her dislike of President Donald Trump – following the tragic death of George Floyd, a Black man who was killed in police custody.

Following push-back from some fans, Pink has insisted that she will always "stand up for what is right" and warned followers that if they "worship" the Confederate flag (a common symbol of white supremacy), they are a "hypocrite".

"How can anyone call themselves a patriot or an American if you re-elect a president that doesn't govern, respect, or represent half of our country?" Pink said in a video message earlier this week. "That's not America. That's your America. That's not America.

"So you either worship the Confederate flag, which is not our flag and never will be, or you're a hypocrite that doesn't actually understand the meaning of patriotism or what it means to be an American."

In a separate post, the singer admitted that she doesn't care if she loses support for speaking out against racism, sexism, or prejudice of any kind, as she continues to stand in solidarity with the wave of protests and demonstrations across the US.

"You don't really even need to announce your exit. You have my blessing," Pink wrote. "Go. Go now. One quick push of a button and you don't have to look in the mirror or confront who you really are."

Her latest update took aim at the current US president Donald Trump, calling him the "worst 'president' in the history of [America]".

In a powerful message, she wrote: "If you didn't know I was about equality twenty years ago, forty years ago, that's your fault not mine. You're surprised I stand up for what is right? Not my problem.

"If you don't want to come to my concerts or buy my records because I believe in equality... because I'm not racist and respect women? DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON YOUR ASS."
