Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Roasts Herself for 'Clumsy' Food Videos
The Food Network star shared an honest, behind-the-scenes look at how she takes clips for social media
Ree Drummond always keeps it real.
The Pioneer Woman star, 55, gave her 4.3 million Instagram followers a behind-the-scenes look at how she makes food videos for social media — and the results were not the smoothest.
“I’m really clumsy with food videos this week,” the cookbook author wrote on her Instagram Story Monday night along with a clip of a cookie.
In the video, the Food Network star zooms in on the frosted treat and attempts to break it in half with her hand. In the process, she sticks her thumb through the frosting, making for a less glamorous shot than she was hoping for.
The mother of five kept the bit going, posting the video again but in slow-motion and zoomed in closer. “Wow, Ree. So incredibly appetizing!” she joked in the second clip. The mockery didn’t stop there and in the third, and final, clip she zoomed in even closer and slowed the video down even more.
“I tell you what,” she wrote. “I am an artist. An expert in my field.”
Drummond has been showing off the new desserts from her restaurant The Pioneer Woman Mercantile in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She even gave a sneak peek at her girls dinner there with sister Betsy Smith and friend Cyndi Kane, known to fans as Hyacinth.
"You might chuckle at the random tidbits of conversation. I believe we covered 9,437 topics, give or take two," she captioned the video. "And omg the food was sublime."
Drummond keeps things lighthearted and honest with her fans. In the past, she posted a selfie joking about “dog slobber” on her coat. Most recently, she kept up with her transparency by talking about her weight loss.
The celebrity chef has kept her followers updated on her fitness journey, which she started in January 2021. Last week, she set the record straight about whether she has used weight loss medications, like Ozempic or Wegovy, in a blog post.
In the update posted last Tuesday, she wrote, “I did not take Ozempic, Wegovy, or similar medications.”

“I support anyone who has success using the above medications. I know they have been an absolute godsend for so many people; I have friends who've experienced incredible results,” Drummond wrote, noting that she didn’t know about the drugs when she began her weight loss.
“Today, even though I have gained a few pounds up and down, I still have not chosen that option,” she said of the popular weight loss injections. “But you'll never hear a second of judgment from me about people who choose that direction!”
Back in October, Drummond told Today that she “tackled [her health] from different directions.” She cut out alcohol, started eating more protein and vegetables, and introduced daily exercise into her routine, like walking her dogs and using at-home gym equipment.
