A Place in the Sun host Craig Rowe was left feeling let down after a guest declared: "It makes me want to cry". The popular Channel 4 programme featured brothers Mark and Simon, who were on a mission to find their dream home along the Spanish shoreline, specifically in the region of Almeria.

Having sold their UK home and temporarily residing in a caravan, they had a firm budget of £225,000 for their Mediterranean paradise. Craig introduced them to an awe-inspiring six-bedroom villa which was lauded as "unreal" and was even found to be under their budget, valued at merely £219,000.

However, the second property shown by Craig didn't hit the mark with the brothers, as Mark admitted he "wasn't feeling it". When they visited the third home offering mountain views, it was met with admiration and labelled as "breathtaking", moving it up the list of potential abodes.

A fourth property caught everyone's attention though. Costing just over £218,000, this newly refurbished residence was conveniently located next to a bar and proved to be a formidable contender with its solarium, courtyard garden, and outdoor swimming pool, reports the Daily Star.

Overwhelmed to the point of tears, Mark confessed: "I'm lost for words. It makes me want to cry, the whole place. I'm speechless."

The mood changed drastically when the brothers made the choice to tender their offer. They shockingly proposed a significantly lower figure of £180,000, leaving Craig rather taken aback.

Regrettably, the offer was declined and the duo opted against making a counteroffer. Craig admitted he was "disappointed" with the outcome, and as the episode wrapped up, viewers learned that the family is still on the hunt for their ideal home.

A Place in the Sun continues on Channel 4 and All 4
