A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton was sorry to deliver some bad news during today's search.

The presenter returned to front Tuesday's edition of the popular Channel 4 programme. Laura was helping Michael and Sami find their dream holiday home in Malaga.

The father and son wanted a three bedroom property with a pool and had a maximum budget of £280,000. The search proved to be challenging as the buyers were unimpressed with some of the viewings.

However, Laura managed to find the perfect home for the buyers at the final attempt as they fell in love with a three bed finca in Alhaurin. The home was priced at £284,482 and the buyers went in low with £260,000 to start off the bidding.

Laura admitted: "It is a bit cheeky. But let's try." However, starting the negotiation low landed the buyers in trouble as Laura explained after a conversation with the seller: "I absolutely hate to say this.

"In the time that we've been sat here going back and forth with offers, the owner has decided to do another viewing with someone else. Obviously, he's now wanting to hear what they have to say. So he wants to think about things overnight because if they offer and it's more than 270 then he'll go with them.

"I'm really really sorry. It's not the best news. It has been an incredibly tough search and incredibly tough negotiations." However, Laura had some much better news as the credits rolled as she revealed the new bid fell through.

She said: "The story didn't end there. The other people who were viewing the house made an offer at asking price, which was accepted so Sami and Michael thought they had lost it.

"But that offer then fell through. Just over three weeks after we finished filming the father and son returned to Spain to finally buy the house with all the furniture thrown in for just under £275,000. What a great deal."
