Plans for two 'traditional cottages' in village withdrawn after road safety fears

Plans for two "traditional cottages" have been withdrawn after fears were raised over road safety.

An unnamed developer applied to build two new three-bed homes on land off Gelham Manor at Dersingham, near King's Lynn.

But Dersingham Parish Council objected to what it called "over-development of the site".

It added: "Access arrangements are potentially dangerous because of the proximity to the junction of Lynn Road and Post Office Road and the lack of visibility in both directions."

Norfolk County Council's highways department said while access to the site via Gelham manor was "suitable", proposals for a new access onto the B1440 Lynn Road "would not be acceptable" because of "substandard levels of emerging visibility".

Correspondence on the council's planning portal says the application has now been withdrawn.
