Yahoo News Points shared as Brighton hold Wolves to a thrilling 2-2 draw
Points were shared at the Amex Stadium as Brighton and Hove Albion forced a draw against sixth in the table Wolves, despite conceding early.
Diogo Jota’s strike before the half hour mark wasn’t enough to give his side the glory. Brighton responded almost immediately to the opener, grabbing not only an equaliser but a second goal to nudge the Seagulls in front.
Neal Maupay scored the first Brighton goal, with Davy Pröpper heading home the second less than two minutes later.
The quick comeback stunned Wolves initially, allowing Aaron Mooy a golden chance to push the home side even further into the lead. The Huddersfield loanee was left with plenty of room to pull the trigger from inside the box, but he fired his effort just wide of Rui Patricio’s far post.
Jota was on hand for Wolves once again on the stroke of half-time to pull the score level again.

The second half was a more cautious affair, with neither side managing to find the back of the net. Brighton kept their defence tight to keep Wolves out, but calls for handball on Lewis Dunk followed an odd scenario in the box.
Dunk appeared to brush the ball against his own arm with his head whilst on the ground. The appeal went to VAR but the outcome didn’t go Wolves’ way, ruling for no penalty.
The Brighton captain collected his sixth yellow card of the season later in the game after a rash challenge on Adama Traoré.
A point for Brighton puts them in 12th place, level on points with Arsenal who are ahead on goal difference.
Six spaces up the table, Wolves are level with Manchester United on 24 points, behind only on goal difference. A win against Brighton would have put them in fifth place, breathing down the neck of Chelsea who sit five points ahead of Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
Brighton’s next Premier League fixture will be against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, whilst Wolves prepare to host in-form Tottenham Hotspur.
