Police appeal after pair assaulted by group of four in Newport

ISLE of Wight police are appealing for help from the public following an assault in Newport last month.

On Friday, May 17, and man and a woman were assaulted on St James’ Street.

Shortly after 11pm, the 47-year-old woman and 27-year-old man were assaulted by four people.

The woman was treated for cuts, bruises and a concussion.

The man was treated for cuts and a broken tooth.

“Can you help us to identify the three people in these CCTV images who may have seen what happened?” asks the force.

The three people are described as:

  • White.

  • Aged in their twenties.

  • The woman is described as slim, blonde, and was wearing a light blue dress and black Converse trainers.

  • The first man is described as average build, he had strawberry blonde hair, and was wearing a grey Nike jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers.

  • The second man is described as average build, he had brown hair and short stubble, and was wearing a grey puffer jacket along with white socks and sandals.
