Police close off main Nuneaton road after elderly woman and BMW collision

An elderly woman was left injured following a collision with a BMW on a main road in Nuneaton. Passers-by spotted that Coton Road was sealed off by police.

The police cordoned off part of the main road while medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service tended to the woman, who has not been identified, but was aged in her 70s. Warwickshire Police say that she had been in collision with a red BMW car.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said that the woman was not seriously injured.

"At just before 8pm on Friday 21 June, officers were called to reports of a collision between a car, a red BMW, and a woman in her 70s on Coton Road, Nuneaton," the spokesperson explained. "The road was closed temporarily. Ambulance services drove the woman to hospital, although they did not suspect any serious injury at that time."
